Students applying for renewal will be issued with a student pass with a maximum duration of 12 months. To avoid overstaying your student pass, UMT International Centre recommends that the Student Pass Renewal application be submitted (together with all required documents) 3 months before the student pass expiry date.
Please renew your student pass 3 month before expiry date. Students are responsible to monitor the expiry date of your pass (i.e. Student pass expiry on 15 February 2026, you can submit renewal by 15 November 2025 or Pass expiry on 20 September 2026, you can submit renewal by 20 June 2026).
To ensure timely processing, students are advised to submit their passport and required documents for student pass redemption at least 5 working days before the pass expiry date (after 90% application progress). The sooner you submit, the better, as this allows for any additional processing time that may be required. Submissions made with fewer than 5 working days of pass validity remaining may incur a special pass fee or fine.
Overstaying is an offence in Malaysian Law. Immigration will impose a penalty ranging from RM 1,000 – RM 5,000 depending on the duration of your overstay.
Undergraduate student must submitted attendance report (>80%) and CGPA must above 2.00.
