We are pleased to inform that, the International Center will be organizing International Week 2018 in conjunction with World Ocean Week (WOW) 2018 on 11 and 12 May 2018. This year the theme is “Ocean and Wave”, with various events planned throughout International Week 2018 @ WOW UMT 2018.

 

 

Programme Malaysia Folk Games
Date 11 May 2018 (Friday)
Time 3.00 – 6.30 p.m.
Venue Dapo Pata
Programme details Please come and join us during this day. This is the opportunity to mingle around with our local community and invitation universities (Unisza, UMK & UMP) and get to know them. Listed below are the Malaysian Traditional Games for this sport day:

a)   Tarik Tali (Tug of War)

Terms of participation:

·         Open to men only

·         Open to 3 teams (mixed – local & international)

·         2 person local,  4 person international

b)   Lari dalam Guni (Sack Race)

Terms of participation:

·         Open to men and women

·         Open to 3 teams (Mixed – local & international)

·         2 person local, 2 person international

c)   Bowling Kelapa (Coconut Bowling)

Terms of participation:

·         Open to men and women

·         Open to 5 teams (Mixed – local & international)

·         2 person local, 4 person international

d)   Tarik Upih (Pulling the coconut fronds/areca nut fronds)

Terms of participation:

·         Open to men and women

·         Open to 3 teams (Mixed – local & international)

·         2 person local, 4 person international)

 

*The player (those are participate in the game will be given the food coupon for International Food Carnival). So, please grab this opportunity!

 

 

 

Programme International Gala Night
Date 11 May 2018
Time 8.30 – 11.00 p.m.
Venue Dapo Pata
Programme details This event is open to all campus community to attend. The international community will share their cultural performance as well as the local students.

 

There will be the Best Traditional Dress for international community (male & female) and Best Costume, theme (Ocean & Wave) for local community (male & female) and lucky draws for audience as well!!! So, please wear your best costume and traditional outfit during this event.

 

Programme International Language Day & International Food Carnival
Date 12 May 2018
Time 9.00 a.m. – 1.00 p.m. │10.00 a.m. – 2.00 p.m.
Venue Dewan Sultan Mizan
Programme details The international staff and students will share their language and culture during the Language Day & Food Carnival. There will be lots of activities such games, competition and learn the language from native speaker/country.

 

*Terms of participation (Language Booth):

·         10 booth will be opened  (by countries)

·         RM 50 provided by IC for decoration of booth

·         First come first serve for basis apply for book the booth (All the Language Club are invited)

*Terms of participation (Food Carnival):

·         10 booth will be opened (by countries)

·         RM 400 provided by IC for the capital

·         First come first serve for basis apply for book the booth

The first 200 visitors will be given food coupon for International Food Carnival!

 

The visitor also need to vote for the Superb Stall, Popular Stall, Five Star Stall and Creative Stall.

 

*Attention to students, all of the programme are been provided with merit My Star. So, please come and join us for all of these events! More fun, more cultural & more existing!!
